Bio

Caroline Truss lived in Surrey as a child, and throughout her married life. She was educated in Wallington.

Whilst bringing up her two children and enjoying married life, she engaged in dressmaking embroidery, craft, painting in water colour and gardening, not forgetting, walking their three Jack Russell dogs.

She attended Scola Sutton Collage for Liberal Arts during the day and gained O level A level Art,  City & Guild Life Drawing, and a Foundation in Art and Design.

Due to her husbands unexpected and early death she returned to study as a mature student at Wimbledon University of the Arts London were she gained her BA in Painting.

She has since relocated to Bath. Although she returns to spend time in London.  Bath is a place she loves and is familiar with from early childhood. This is where she intends to continue her education at this point.

The first year to locate the appropriate institutes for her course interests and familiarize her self will the area by joining U3A walking group and their art groups, they like active input which will activate thinking, also investigate the Larkhall Studio’s classes and not forgetting the BSLA for their lectures and  discourse on subjects which reflect into her subject matter.

The intention within her work is to record and document everyday humanity as it evolves around her, ethically and with integrity, empathy and love of her fellow mankind.

She is a resolute  in her continuing thirst for knowledge with the understanding of her subject matter, and wishes to master technique at a better level.  She gained the Life Drawing certificate with her right arm broken in three places at the shoulder had a metal plate fitted during the last six weeks. She finalized by using her left hand instead.

Her tutor at the time said, her work was about life’s struggle.

We sometimes find obstacles which could block our path but they will be passed.
